ALUK TODOLO is the result of three black metal fanatics who started listening to Faust, Günter Schickert and German Oak on a lonely evening. They only kept the misanthropic atmosphere from their musical background. All the other ingrediënts make Aluk Todolo an oiled kraut machine that is both introvert and explosive, with repetitive drum paterns and exorcized guitar- and bass licks.
BURIAL HEX is one of the many outlets of Wisconsin's Clay Ruby, whom you might know from Davenport (now The Second Family), Jex Thoth, The Zodiacs, Zodiac Mountain,... Burial Hex is his moniker for what he calls horror electronics. With a portmanteau full of effects, metal and cables he creates a musical short-circuiting between Popol Vuh and Maurizio Bianchi. Cosmic Industrial?

Once every now and then, suddenly a new far-out Japanese psych combo appears on the scene that fries everyone's mind immediately, but in that category LSD MARCH will stay the kings forever. With their perfect mix of Velvet Underground and Les Rallizes Denudes, releases on aRCHIVE, Tequila Sunrise etc and a recent collab with Bardo Pond, the band is on its way to kvlt heaven. Ever since opening (K-RAA-K)3 festival in 2006 with a blast, we've been eagerly waiting for the band to come back to Europe. And now we're sure you should be there to witness the Jappsych meltdown of the Bunker in Brussels!
STARVING WEIRDOS, with a name like that, people would make fun of you here in Europe. Weren't it that the drones these people produce are so demented, we gladly forgive them their band name. Aquarius Records in San Francisco noticed this band a good while ago after they heard one of their cd-r's and were blown away by their sound craft, that is often compared to AMM, that they had to tell the world. And right they were. People fell in love with their music. So did we. In no time they spread weirdo vibes over the planet, and they're invited to play the slums of our capital. Well, they deserved it!
Our own IGNATZ comes with the long awaited "III" in September. On this album he wraps himself even deeper in his 21st century nightmare blues. Together with LASD march he's touring through Europe to reap and destroy new souls.

KISS THE ANUS OF A BLACK CAT's brand new album, "The Nebulous Dreams" will be released on Conspiracy records in September. Stef Heeren and his clique are walking similar paths as on their previous one: dark pagan folk, stretched doom rock mantras and clever pathos. "Blackened loner persistance drenched in assault sorcery and woven with occult paraphernalia." Horizon!
The by prog, RIO and film music influenced English quartet GUAPO recently released their eighth record on the Neurotimprint on which we hear a modern version of bands like Magma and Univers Zero, combined with the grandeur of early Tortoise. More than ten years already are they working on a very personal progressive sound, that isn't to be compared to any of their peers.
It has been a busy year for SIC ALPS. They've had a whole bunch of stuff released, a.o. a compilation cd of all their singles, 12"s and compilation tracks and a new album on the Siltbreeze imprint. The raw approach of their often very melodic noisadelic pop songs is still their main trade mark. Because this band's biotopes are smutty garages and moist basements we wanted to see them again in our favorite trashy place in the Brussels red light district.
About ten years ago the same Siltbreeze label released "Use Copenhagen 69 Guitars + Park Drive Circular Effects Pedals" by ASHTRAY NAVIGATIONS, the band of Phil Todd that pioneered the experimental drone- and noise scene of Leeds. With almost forty releases full of tape synth and guitar madness, Todd goes as one of the grandfathers of the fourth generation dronesters.
