Hebbex D'Expectatio Expectata
Kjetil Brandsdal (Noxagt, No Balls) and Thore Warland (Firmaet Forvoksen, Golden Oriole) have been experimenting with turntablism and transduced percussions through visually stunning and aurally disorienting releases on the revered Drid Machine label. With the addition of singer/poet/Stavanger dancehall icon Helge Thornes, the newfangled Hebbex D'Expectatio Expectata combine those reworked sounds with lyrics drawn from Aubrey Beardsley, Roman tragedies and Norwegian headlines. Rhapsodic disquiet has never sounded so groovy.
Ignatz
Mumblecore figurehead exchanges guitar for key tones in a not wholly unexpected twist (see his 7" on KRAAK You Don't See Me) in a journey that began when he inherited a family piano in the 2010s. Ignatz's latest record on Brussels imprint By The Bluest Of Seas, I Don't Know, proffers his expressive arrangements and trademark utterances in new palettes, sounding both instantly recognizable whist wandering purposefully into new musical pathways. A Sunday service closer for meditative meanderings, opening gates to the familiar unknown.
DJ Marie-Thérèse
Rabotian Roommates Romane Parmentier (Rotbrijn) and Eline Cremers (1/2 of Sheree & Bob, 1/2 of Kevin & Dodie) descend to that oh so welcoming church that their oh so holy street overlooks. For the occasion, they will transport their CD collection from the top of their fridge to this space even closer to heaven. They'll welcome all and send them back off with their eclectic kitchen tunes and might even have some slapstick or a capella covers up their sleeve …
