KRAAK x Real No Real
Break out the vermouth and patatas bravas, or at least conjure them in your soul, as KRAAK teams up with Madrid's realest nomadic concerts organization Real No Real for a cross-border kinship materializing at the Q-O2 headquarters. The nomadic non-profit, much like yours truly, emphasizes an interest in experimental music and sound art through multidisciplinary-minded stagings of performances and workshops all over their hometown. Filing the ranks of Real No Real are Pablo G. Cornejo, Miguel Estades, Adriana Casado, Pedro D. Saiz and Juan Vacas + Pablo Mirón of Miradasvacas ~ together, they bring us a homegrown curation slated to descend unto either side of the Brussels canal for a night of blurred genres and spaced encounters. Noela Covelo Velasco & Garazi Navas
Present Proxima vuelta del faro (next rotation of the lighthouse)
This performance by Noela Covelo Velasco explores the dissection of a body through voice, and how the voice ~ in all its temporalities, fluctuations and textures ~ is, much like the rotating movement of lighthouse lamps, closely linked to memory. The presentation will be augmented by accordionist Garazi Navas who imbues the instrument with poetic physicality as the air is stretched and compressed to create fleeting yet imposing masses of sound. Voice and accordion interact on a physical and material level, intentionally and gesturally shaping sound as gateways to memory and time.
Matacandil
Matacandil is a duo featuring Llum Tourdion and Miguel Molina on violin. Together they set out to explore electronic music through their shared instrument, all the while revisiting the sounds inherent to the violin through a sometimes nostalgic, sometimes defiant lens. Far from adhering to traditional interpretations of the violin’s language, their aim is to unearth its nuances by navigating diverse soundscapes, studying original sources in order to understand and, ultimately, to deconstruct them.
