KRAAK'S NIEUWJAARS FETE @ Atelier210

Decimus (US), Natasha Pirard (BE), Orphids (BE)

As per tradition, KRAAK’s Nieuwjaar’s Fête greets the year’s follies in grand style, this time at Etterbeek’s finest cultural establishment Atelier210. Setting the tone for a better 2025 will be three artists that perform the art of ecstasy in their own way: self-disintegration by way of synthetic ragas, cyclical loopings of time itself, and the colliding forces of chaos and order by way of danceable electronica. Hitting the right notes to re-center the self before the year’s rowdiness goes into full swing!

In collaboration with Atelier210.

Decimus

Pat Murano makes expansive electronic ragas for the unmoored souls. A core member of the legendary No-Neck Blues Band, Murano uses his Decimus alias to churn out longform ego-dissolving jams. Somewhere between diluted techno and looped atmospheres lie the synthetic meditations which engage inner rhythms to still the mind and stir the spirit. His solo discography is mostly self-released on his Kelippah and Daksuna imprints.

Natasha Pirard

Natasha Pirard is a musicologist and composer from Ghent. Fascinated by how and why sound makes us feel, the political implications of sound, noise pollution and the everyday sounds embedded in our immediate environment, she uses loops, frequencies and waves to reflect on the notion of time as cyclical rather than linear. Her debut album, Dream Cycles, was released in February 2024 by the Ghent-based label DEEWEE.

Orphids

Chaos and order can also do a dance ~ the electronic duo of Lucie Pinier (Fruiting Body, Sorcière Picasso) and Matthieu Levet (Carrageenan, Pizza Noise Mafia, Carcass Identity) known as Orphids inhabits a tension-filled universe where anarchy finds melodic integrity. Polyrhythms create a boundless frenetic playground where ambient, techno and noise collide into a whirlwind of colorful narratives and upbeat structures.
