Edgar Wappenhalter is the brainchild of poet and former kraakhead Steve Marreyt. Ever since the birth of the Funeral Folk collective in 2004 he has been recording loose and lo-fi light psych bedroom ballads and sample based miniature experiments. Strongly tied to the Morctapes family, he has just released his third LP 'ijsschots veenlaag mist', which is an ode to the late Dutch communist poet Sonja Prins. Wappenhalter also plays in several folk inspired outfits such as Distels, 's Lands Welvaren, Luster and the newly formed West-Flemish krautrockband Strövels.
