OCTOBER NEWS
Recapping the grey zones
It’s been an unusually busy month so this newsletter will feel more like a recap than an act of dissemination, but all’s good in the name of content and archive right? Anyway everyone’s probably got some form of the seasonal ills and already deep in the inbox scroll (not like there’s a million shows to see or anything, and not like this isn’t all some half-baked justification for basically forgetting to do the newsletter this month yikes). At least from the vantage point we can say you have been many to come and hang with us at our shows, and that these fun times are all the placating we needed.

RAZEN - MIRAGES LP OUT NOW
The latest release on our label is a somewhat symbolic and a truly exciting one: continuing their search for expansive sounds beyond the Early Musicsphere, Razen’s Brecht Ameel and Kim Delcour teamed up with French turnablist (and KRAAK Fest 2020 star closer) Guilhem All for a a series of rock-encrusted desert mirages which reveal themselves from the stillness and spin frenetically into the unknown.
Recorded during a five-day residency at the Echo Chamber in Volta, Brussels, Mirages Razen has once again found untethered grounds for experimentation, transcending physical barriers to enter the realm of the visionary. With Mirages, they have impressed upon us an auditory Fata Morgana whose effects remain long after its notes have melted away. Grip your copy over on our Bandcamp!!
SHOWS (PAST AND UPCOMING)
The suffering horsey up there (courtesy of Barn Sour) is probably what your face looks like after scrolling down this far, but it’s a great fucking flyer! And a great show we did have at the gorgeous KOM! chapel in Bruges alongside the Dekantian buddieswith Milkweed, Sam Grassie and Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh ~ neo-trad, soulful guitarings and viola madness set to the dismaying end of Chris Marker’s imagery, it was certainly worth the tryp. We’ve really determined we need more visual-audio keepsakes of nights such as these, and obviously any material taken during these events when we’re too busy cleaning up exploded Orvals off our merch is forever welcome!
Coming up tomorrow: our last trip of the year to De Koer hand in hand with the cutest Lise reps, as we celebrate the aforementioned release with the sole performance of the new Razen trio that we’ll have in a while 👀 Also the haunting atavistic hymns and esoteric instrumentalia of one Thorn Wych from Bacup Lancashire, closed off by the inscrutable Amdience selecting sounds of multiple tempoes and hazy vibes. If you have a work thing on a Saturday, cancel it and be at De Koer for some well-deserved St Bernies.

ODDS & ENDS
- Radio Roundup: is coming! The linking and uploading will have to wait until we’re out of this flurry, so keep an eye out on our Radio tab in the coming days
- New shows are getting the cautious upload treatment on our website ~ we have but three left this year 😱 and the first one on November’s horizon has been a long time a’cookin and clearly unmissable by anyone who’s decided their ears are receptacles of weird and the brutally expansive inputs. So I guess we’ll be seeing most of you at the Volta Echo Chamber in November!
- If you’re in Brussels tonight and haven’t already mapped out your entire evening, Guilhem All will play a solo show at La Cheminée (iykyk) ~ a pretty unmissable chance, if you don’t happen to be stuck at home with some bug like yours truly
