Food People + Territorial Gobbing

KRAAK 2023 alumni Food People make their much-awaited return to our realms, bringing with them their expansive brew of searing guitar riffs, acid violin dronings and the electronic garblings and found sounds that paint a most arresting sensorial picture. In a twistedly exhilirating turn of events, the affable trio from Nottingham/Glasgow enlisted the vocal shenanigans of none other than Leeds’ most heinous whiner, Territorial Gobbing. Unreliable buildups with possibly no climax are in store, with just the right dose of unrestricted weirdo energy.

Frituuur Aconcagua

Earlier this year, Frituuur Aconcagua’s self-titled debut tape made lucid dreams audible. In this compelling post-Andean configuration, Argentina’s Bardo Todol conjures specters through flutes, radiowaves and the rustling of the earth, Chile’s Embassador Dulgoon layers synth arabesques over samples of uncertain origins, and Brussels-based Ecuadorian Disposición Asoleada untethers the real with various instrumental inchings. This will be the first live manifestation of the Aconcaguan triumvirate, with one-third of the ensemble joining from his Salsipuedesian outpost in ways yet to be determined!

Red Brut

Not a moment too soon, Marijn Verbiesen aka Red Brut returns to her KRAAK abode on the eve of her upcoming album, On Bare Ground, out three-ways on Coherent States/Econore/Dead Mind records. In the uncapitalized words of Niels Latomme, “the tape composer and concrete poet relocated from rotterdam to the far north. along the way, ballast was left behind; she stripped down her unique musical dialect of tape-warbled sound snippets and distant parlando. what’s left? a collection of well-chosen scraps: a poem, a piano loop, subliminal sounds, and an enigma.”
